Grassroutes is an organization committed to helping the urban world meet and discover rural India. We seek to do this by developing community managed tourism that will enable people from across the world to experience Indian villages in their most authentic forms.

Ours is a responsible tourism movement building a network of village tourism destinations across India where in tourism is ‘owned, managed and run’ by the local communities and where tourists can swim in crystal clear waters of a river, help farmers thresh wheat, chop wood with a long handled axe, and eat home cooked meals with peasants in the dim light of their rustic homes.
